Hello friends,
It has been a while since I opened this page and made an actual blog post! Life has been full. When my friend passed away unexpectedly in May, I kind of went on a break from most of social media and blogging all together. It was the culmination of a year of losing people left and right and I needed to step back. So I am slowly easing myself back into the social media and blogging world. I did post a few things over the summer. It was a non-stop summer. Every year I think it will be a slow summer, and then bam, it goes full throttle! It was not all bad, and I really did enjoy my quality time with the kids I nanny, great time with friends, delicious food, pet sitting adventures, more teaching than I initially planned, and time with Wayne and some of his family!
The kiddos had a great summer with a blend of school work, playing games, swimming, outings, museums, kitchen experiments and lots of quality time!

Our adventures in pet sitting felt a bit like a zoo this summer. Overall we had 5 dogs, 2 fish, a cat, a guinea pig and a partridge in a pear tree 😉

Time with friends and family this summer was so precious!

Time at the beach was really good for my soul!

And of course, delicious food this summer was so wonderful to have, especially with good friends!

One thing that was on my mind a lot at the beginning of the summer was my fitness. Truth- I have not really had super specific fitness goals over this past year. When I tore my meniscus last summer (but didn’t find out till January), I took things pretty easy. I had been really making strides in my cardiovascular progress and was lifting heavier weights. My knee injury, along with the heart testing I had done, forced me to take a step back. I was still working out, but not with a lot of intensity or purpose.
Thankfully, this summer I have been feeling really great! My knee has been getting stronger and my heart has been doing amazing! My heart has been feeling really strong and I haven’t had a palpitation in months! I have been checking in with my heart rate from my applewatch app. I know it is not always 100% accurate, but I have noticed a progression in my cardio fitness, and it has been really encouraging to me! My blood pressure has also been super consistent and in a great range!

Now that I am feeling like I am on a good path with my fitness and recovery, I am planning to get back to some fitness goals. Nothing super crazy, but there are some goals I had put on the back burner. I am excited to see what comes, and I am even more grateful that I am healthy again to be working out and tackle some of these goals both with my personal fitness and with my instructing!

It is good to be back! How was your summer? Fill me in!

Sounds like your year was off to a rough start. Happy to see that you are back and doing well. Have a great rest of your summer

I love that you are feeling good about your fitness and recovery! I’m sure that’s a huge mood improver! We had a great summer here. For us, it’s over as the kids are back to school, but fall feels pretty much the same as summer in Florida.
Keep up the great work!
