Birthday Week Shenanigans

Hello friends!
Catching up a little on last week! It was a fun week with some birthday celebrations mixed in with work, teaching and some great workouts!
My week was pretty full, per usual, so W took me out Tuesday an early birthday celebration at one of my favorite local places! They serve farm to market style food, and it is DELICIOUS!
Actually all my birthday week meals were amazing! These are just a few of them 🙂

Wednesday was my actual birthday! I started off the day teaching a class, then acted like an adult and got some errands done, ordered a salad for lunch, got a free coffee and ate a Hail Merry dessert for my afternoon snack! It was stress free and lovely! I ended the night with another class, and had a lot of fun!

Thursday was another full day, but thankfully I was blessed with a wonderful celebration with many of my friends, and I ended the day with a nice long two hour hot stone massage. My back has been under a lot of stress, and it was a HOT mess! My therapist worked on my back for over an hour, and there are still some knots! One spot in particular was really bad. She had to lift my scapula up and work on knots under there for a while. It is starting to feel a bit better with some more work on my end, icing, foam rolling, trigger point work and some stretches!

Friday and the rest of the weekend was pretty packed with some work, meetings, and the most special, a friends big birthday! Finding a gift for a friend who doesn’t need anything can be challenging! I found the perfect gift, and she was thrilled! We both were crying when she opened it! A memory blanket of her first baby, the sweetest pup on the planet, who passed away this year.

I got to spend some quality time with my Texas BFF and we taught a super fun class together, and had a coffee date with another good friend! Much needed!!

Last week was the first full week back to school and my full teaching schedule! It was good, but a bit exhausting! My normal schedule is just about right, but I did sub for a few people this week and I think it took a bit out of me!

Weekly Workout
Monday- Taught Body pump (sub), 20 min walk with the dog
Tuesday- Taught Body Pump, 20 min walk with the dog
Wednesday- Taught 2 Body Pump classes, 20 min walk with the dong
Thursday- Took a Body Pump class, 25 min walk with the dog
Friday- Taught SPRINT, and a 20 min walk with the dog
Saturday- Co-taught a fun Body Pump class, short spin class
Sunday- Rest day, although it didn’t feel like a rest day!

This next week I am still teaching a bit, but also focusing on better recovery. I need to up my game with the foam rolling, stretching, icing and probably a hot bath or 2. I know my body will appreciate it as well! I am also getting a plan for some of the new goals I want to work on for the rest of the year! The next 4 months I want to try some new things as well as up my weights in many areas! I also have some goals I want to hit as an instructor! Always learning and growing!

On a different note, I am in the middle of redoing my office! I can not wait for it to be fully finished!
This is my favorite part so far! Rainbow bookshelf!

How were your workouts last week? Try anything new?

  1. I am dying to know what a Hail Mary dessert is!

Looks like you had a wonderful birthday weekend! Your gift to your friend was so thoughtful and sweet (I’m sure she loved it) and I love that you got to teach with another friend.

No new workouts this week. I am holding strong in the miles and the cross training and it’s all going fairly well. 🙂
